Zimele is licensed and regulated by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as a fund manager for unit trusts; and by the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), as a fund manager and fund administrator for pension funds.
The Zimele Unit Trust has two funds, the Zimele Balanced Fund and the Zimele Money Market Fund. The Zimele Balanced Fund is invested in shares of companies at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) and interest-earning instruments like treasury bills, treasury bonds, commercial paper, among others. It is ideal for medium to long-term investment. The Money Market Fund is invested only in interest-earning instruments and is ideal for short-term investing.

The Zimele Personal Pension Plan targets individuals who would like to save for retirement and are either self-employed or work in organizations that do not have pension schemes.

Dr. David Ndii (Chairman)

Dr. Ndii is a Rhodes Scholar and holds a doctorate in Economics from Oxford University. He has vast experience in economic research and policy analysis having worked with numerous think tanks and governments both locally and internationally. He has previously held the position of chief economist at Equity Bank, Africa’s leading micro-finance bank.

George Ooko
Mr. Ooko has extensive experience in marketing of retail financial services. He is the chief executive of the Coffee Development Fund and has held the position of Retail Director at Barclays Bank of Kenya and NIC Bank.

Njeri Kariuki (Mrs.)
Mrs. Kariuki is a lawyer by profession, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Mrs. Kariuki also sits on boards of companies in various industries.

Peter Waa
Mr. Waa is a consultant with extensive experience in the ICT industry.
